Thanks for stopping by my NEW web page.  I have just started to recreate my new site on my home computer.  As time permits, I'll be updating the site to reflect new things I've learned, cool sites I've found, and new pictures of things I'm doing. Schooling:

Much of what happened in my early life is not eventful.  I actually went to the same grammer school that my Mother attended over 40 years earlier but that's Catholic thing as much as it is strange thing.  The following are the links of the schools I attended after.

Cornell College - Mt. Vernon, IA
I was introduced to computers early in my college career and have been hooked on them ever since.  For my senior project I looked at a new (at the time) piece of software that would run the UNIX operating system on a PC!  At that time UNIX was restricted to larger computers and was just being eplored for its uses in a smaller environment.  My Faculty Advisor suggested the project as a way for him to learn more about UNIX on the PC and after the project was over, offered a 5 1/2" disk to me with a smaller UNIX-like Operating System called "Minix" written by Andrew Tenenbaum.  Little did I know that 3 years later, another student on the other side of the world would pick up this software and change the computer industry.  (  CLICK Here for the my Linux page.  )

Job:

I have been a programmer now for over 12 years and a consultant for most of those.  After a few jobs at small companies, I broke away from the corporate life and foolheartedly thought I could start a consulting company with my sister.  We worked on a few jobs for 3 years but had no marketing experience.  I learned alot about myself and try to use the values I set back then to guide me to this day.

 Whittman-Hart ( No Logo Found )
My new company is Whittman-Hart.  They are the largest company I ever worked for.  I have resevations of being lost as my of my fellow consultants feel but with all of us going through a merger experience together it is comforting.  So far the company has doubled in size since I first started.  I'm trying to be patient see what happens.
W-H has merged with US-Web CKS and formed marchFIRST (yes, that is how they asked us to properly spell it).
Update: Well, as of April 9, 2001, I no longer work for marchFIRST.  Luckily, with the company going under, I am able to explore options with the company I was working at, EdGate.  I am able to continue the Java Application Server project I began as a consultant, now, as an employee.
I think I need a blog to keep track of all the changes.
